HYS is pledging a total of $10,ooo to organizations who support families affected by Alzheimer’s.
The beginnings of Hear Your Story are from a deeply personal space.
After seeing the cruelness of Alzheimer's steal his father’s creativity, curiosity, and memories, our founder struggled with feelings of helplessness and regret. From his grief came the appreciation of how every person holds precious stories that need to be learned, cherished, and passed on.
Please join us in contributing to one of the following organizations in support of Alzheimer’s awareness month.
Alzheimer’s Foundation of America
Founded in 2002 the AFA was made by a caregiver whose mother lived with Alzheimer’s disease. His goal was to make sure that no other family living with Alzheimer’s disease would have to go through the journey alone with the mission to provide support, services and education to individuals, families and caregivers affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias nationwide, and fund research for better treatment and a cure.
Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation
Founded in 1998 by co-chairmen Leonard A. and Ronald S. Lauder, the Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation (ADDF) is the only charity solely focused on finding drugs for Alzheimer's. The ADDF focuses on translating the knowledge we have gained about the causes of Alzheimer's disease – known as the “biology of aging” – into drugs to conquer it.
American Brain Foundation
Since 1992, the American Brain Foundation has been investing in research to defeat brain diseases and disorders. We are a national foundation for the brain dedicated to the relentless pursuit of improved prevention, treatment, and cures for brain diseases and disorders. Funding research across a broad spectrum of the brain and nervous system is our best hope for finding better treatments, prevention, and cures for the brain diseases affecting millions. That is why the American Brain Foundation has invested millions of dollars to support innovative scientific investigations by the best and the brightest researchers.
Bright Focus Foundation
Founded in 1973 as the American Health Assistance, Bright Focus Foundation wanted to fund critical research to find cures for the most pressing health problems. Their first success came by way of the artificial heart, one of the long-sought holy grails of modern medicine. With donor support, they funded early research to support the artificial heart program, including the first permanent implantation of an artificial heart in 1982.
Alzheimer's Association
The largest nonprofit funder of Alzheimer's research, the Association is committed to accelerating the global progress toward methods of treatments, preventions and ultimately, a cure. The Association currently has more than $430 million invested in over 1,110 active projects in 56 countries spanning six continents.
Alzheimer’s Disease International
Alzheimer’s Disease International (ADI) is the international federation of Alzheimer and dementia associations around the world; in official relations with the World Health Organization (WHO).
In honor of our founder's family.
